A beautiful hand-made ceramic jar filled with monocultivar Peranzana extra virgin olive oil. Great for cooking and for dressing lighter dishes such as salad or vegetables. Frantoio Muraglia, operated for five generations by the Muraglia family, prioritizes preserving the biodiversity of the agricultural landscape of Apulia and protecting the olive trees which are so vital to their company. The oldest Coratina olive tree on their estate is estimated to be 450 years old and produced the olives for their very first pressing. The Coratina olive is native to Apulia and boasts high levels of polyphenols which contribute to both the flavor of the olive oil and the health benefits. Following ancient tradition, the olives are harvested by hand and are crushed using a stone mill. Olive oil has been stored in ceramic vessels since ancient times and Muraglia continues the tradition by filling beautiful handmade ceramic jars with their award winning monocultivar Peranzana extra virgin olive oil. This olive oil is made using only Peranzana olives and has rich notes of tomato, arugula, radish and artichoke. Zia Pia is a boutique importer specializing in fine, authentic regional Italian foods.
